Trump’s Tariffs Crackdown: These Countries Just Got Hit

President Trump and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick established on Sunday that if countries do not initiate a deal with the U.S., then they will revert to the tariffs set on them back in April. In April 2025, President Trump imposed high tariffs on many countries, aiming to boost domestic business by encouraging people to purchase American-made products. They were both interviewed about the tariffs right before departing for New Jersey on Sunday evening. Trump exclaimed that his office will begin sending 12-15 letters to countries regarding trade agreements and tariff letters later this week.

Trump Plans to Visit Flood-Hit Central Texas

Catastrophic floods emerged in Texas, confirming that over 100 people have been found dead. President Trump labeled this flood as a “terrible event.” Last week in Texas, by the Guadalupe River, a flood emerged, killing many people in the area, including many kids at camp. There were concerns about the skepticism of the Texas police department, including why they didn't initiate evacuation warnings early on. This attack has taken a toll on Texas, causing approximately $150 billion in damage.

9 Killed in Fire at Massachusetts Senior Home

An assisted living home in Massachusetts resulted in 9 people killed and 30 others injured after being trapped inside. This led to responders kicking down doors, breaking windows, and pulling people out of the facility. Firefighters saw the front of the buildings engulfed in flames and smoke, and they rushed in to rescue many individuals. Thirty people were rushed to the hospital, including five firefighters with minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation.

Democrats Say ICE Cannot Put Masks On

Democratic lawmakers are currently in pursuit of banning face coverings for ICE agents and deportation officers. On the other hand, federal law enforcement leaders say that immigration officers using optional face coverings have been significantly protected. The agency argues that the optionality is cruel because it establishes safeguards for the families of the agents. For example, wearing masks eliminates the probability of others finding their homes and family members. On June 26, New York Democrats introduced the “No Secret Police Act”. This would prohibit border security agents from using homemade, non-tactical masks.
