Big Beautiful Bill Passes Senate and House, Signed Into Law by President

This bill was initiated by President Trump and was signed into law by his self-imposed deadline of July 4th. Spanning nearly 900 pages, the bill encompasses a broad range of topics, including tax breaks and spending reductions. The legislation concludes with about 4.5 trillion in tax cuts. The bill also moderates to no tax on tip overtime and a $6,000 deduction for adults who earn less than $75,000 per year, until the end of Trump's term (2028). High-tax states such as New Jersey, New York, and California will benefit from a greater income tax deduction. Additionally, the bill boosts spending on border security and national defense, reflecting the administration’s main priorities.

Celebrate 250 years of American freedom.

July 4, 2026, will mark the 250th anniversary of American independence in the United States. At President Trump’s Salute to America speech, delivered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. he said “With a single sheet of parchment and 56 signatures, America began the greatest political journey in human history.” The President and the Salute to America 250 Task Force have begun the official planning of festivals for next year's celebration. They highly encourage all Americans and institutions to gather, unite, and participate in this historic celebration.

Texas Flash Flooding

The flash Floods that happened last week in Texas killed 82 confirmed people over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The Police department is still on the lookout for many missing individuals, including 10 girls who attended the summer camp. This incident at the Guadalupe River, near San Antonio, prompted officials to inquire about the speed and preparation of the first actions they took in this instance.

Over time, the Texas hill has become prone to flooding due to dry, compacted dirt areas where water does not soak into the soil and instead runs along the surface. Friday's floods began with a heavy storm and ultimately resulted in 12 inches of rain. Furthermore, officials are facing criticism for failing to warn youth summer camps to evacuate, a delay that tragically resulted in the deaths of at least 27 campers and counselors. Rescue efforts involved volunteers, search dogs, and drones in an urgent search for the missing.
